I fell in love with this necklace and pulled from it an old world, southern elegance that I carried throughout this board. I just love it when the old meets the new; old family jewelry, antique books, a locket with pictures of loved ones and old keys all shaping the memories of a new love. Nothing is more important to me than my family and friends and I think weddings are the perfect occasion to to bring both together. I think this board emulates grace, elegance and charm through a muted color palette and classic elements.

I’m heading to snowy Denver this weekend…and to prepare myself mentally for the cold I made this winter wonderland board. There is something so romantic about these winter affairs, maybe it’s just a good excuse to cuddle up with someone!
This is a pretty simple color scheme of brown and white. I love all the natural elements that make it feel kind of woodsy! I absolutely love birch wood for centerpieces, the perfect winter look. I also adore this cake with the twigs and little birds, the place cards have so much texture, I just love them. I love the bride wrapped up to keep warm and the bridesmaids with their furry stoles too!
I imagine a hot chocolate bar with lots of topping options, marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, crushed peppermints…step outside and there’s a bonfire pit with all the S’more necessities. Pashminas in white and brown sitting by the door to keep guests warm. And a fireplace in the reception with a cozy sitting area with lots of thick knit blankets and board games. For favors, yummy cookies and hot chocolate in a burlap sack tied with a brown velvet ribbon. Ah, sigh… Okay, I think I’m ready…bring on the snow!

I’ve been in a very girly mood lately…bubble baths, manicures, yoga, and reading a book about “Working Women.” Sometimes it’s just nice to really feel like a girl! This board is ultra feminine, lots of soft pinks, yellows and oranges. Pretty flowers and ribbon accents tucked away through out the entire event.
The delicate touches could even pull together for a sweet bridal shower or even a baby shower instead.

Inspired by the fern wall paper behind the marbled cake…this board took on a natural and whimsical theme. I love the bouquet and the boutonniere with that plaid tie. The hair piece and fiddlehead ferns add to the whimsical feel of this affair. I think a wedding inspired by this board could go from country and casual to formal and chic with the right details.

Is it Fall out or what? The weather and colors of Autumn have truly been inspiring me lately…and it didn’t end today. I love the green color of a pear, it’s a warm green that pulls in golds and browns. The green is just stunning, pulled in throughout this board - bridesmaids dresses, invitations, fabrics, the cake and those gorgeous champagne glasses - cheers! I love the fabulously rustic centerpieces and the cozy sitting area too.

Fall fruits like blood oranges and pomegranates create a lush palette of deep and light reds to oranges. I loved the colors of the top right bar and that photo inspired this board. The invitation helped pull it all together, doesn’t the design look like a slice of an orange with pomegranate seeds, as well as remind you of a Gerber daisy?? It did me! That’s where the centerpieces and bouquet were pulled in from. I love how the deep colors keep it elegant and the browns and oranges keep it just a little bit rustic.

I think there is something tranquil about blue and green, especially when paired together. They have a calming effect that can set a wonderful mood for a wedding.
When working with blues and greens I think it’s important to bring in many shades of the two colors, trying too hard to stick to one shade of blue and one shade of green can be a challenge, and the varying shades help create depth. I love the ribbon theme that developed on the board below. I love ribbons and wrapping gifts with gorgeous bows on top. I imagine this wedding in late spring or summer, a casual affair, possibly a backyard wedding or in a small country church.

I’m going to an orchard this weekend for some apple and pumpkin picking…I’m so excited and it inspired me for this board today…
I can see this wedding in a beautiful orchard in the middle of the fall. Pulling in the colors of the country green apples and the pine cones. It’s rustic and casual, yet charming and classic. I love the apples everywhere; in the centerpieces, on the dessert table, mini caramel apple treats and hot apple cider to drink!
The reception is in a wooden barn, with rough wood floors and rustic wood tables with burlap table runners, everyone seated family style. I love the look of the old keys used as the seating cards, the family’s old silver and china used at the reception.

Being that Halloween is on a Saturday this year, I’m sure that there are many out there having their weddings on October 31st. Personally, I think if I were to have my wedding on such a holiday I would embrace the mood and incorporate it into the theme of my wedding.
Lots of fun prints, polka-dots and stripes, bright pumpkin orange and black, the adorable button bouquet for the flower girl, the black and orange candy boxes for the guests, the Halloween inspired cocktails, the Gothic feeling wedding attire, the Halloween garter…they all come together for what promises to be a spooktacular time!

I won’t lie, I’ve had a sweet tooth today…but sometimes you’ve just gotta let go and enjoy! This board is all about the something sweet…the candy bar,the cupcakes, the chocolates and monogrammed cookie favors. I think brown is a great neutral that goes well with lots of colors…I like the cheerfulness that pops when it’s mixed with this warm buttery yellow…perfect for summer or into the fall.
