Winter wonderland
How I see a winter wedding… cristals, branches, soft colored flowers, lots of candles to warm the atmosphere, and of course, snow !
A white world with the softest color accents to make it cozy…

I can just visualize this kind of wedding. Late september or at the begining of october, when the days are shortening but can still be warm.
A cozy atmosphere with candles, garlands and lanterns to brighten the early night.
Apples and pears for their lovely colors, bright reds, oranges and soft greens…
A lovely barn or winery for a perfect venue.

A garden themed wedding, drafted along the beautiful Alexandre dress by Delphine Manivet…
Flowers should look like they were picked up by the bride on the morning of the wedding !
Here are a few pics of the process of making my wedding dress… a great experience *sigh*.

If I was to get wed again… and if money was not a problem… I’d love to get wed in the Château de Gilly. A spectacular place… where you could go all white (hmmm. Not sure that would be a good idea with me as a bride as I would be part of the decor with my fair skin… but still lovely) and traditionnal. A beautiful lace dress, white flowers (peonies, hydrangeas and orchids) and invites, and of course, macaroons.
Simply white for a simple elegance.
I must say this is FUN
Here’s a quick view of our wedding decoration, which took place on the 9th of May…
Our colors were bright pinks, white and small touches of green, with an orange background provided by our brick venue. The theme was orchids because that’s a flower we both love… our table names were the names of french orchids with pictures we had taken.
We gave out the traditionnal french favor, dragées (sugar coated almonds), but also a small pot of Dijon mustard as that’s our new hometown. There were different flavors, blackcurrant (the pink one, blackcurrant being a Dijon speciality as in blackcurrent cream…), classic, gingerbread (another Dijon speciality) and “estragon” (don’t know the english name for that herb, sorry…).
I made the centerpieces and stationary (invitations, programs, menus) and decorated the trees with paper lanterns.
My dress was home made by my aunt and my mother, and that was a great experience. We designed it and made it with silk dupioni, Calais lace and tulle.

Testing the new Flickr feature… really cool !
Here are some pics of my getting ready (almost 4 months ago now… *sigh* ) and a few couple photos…
Hello everybody…
I’m one of the French readers of SMP, and despite my wedding being behind me (married on the 9th of May) I wished to test this new feature, because weddings have become a passion for me.
See you soon !
